CHINE POUR LE MARCHÉ PORTUGAISDYNASTIE QING, PÉRIODE DAOGUANG (1820 - 1850)
Porcelain plate decorated with the sailboat "Brillante".
The center is decorated with a representation of the boat, sails unfurled and flags flapping in the wind. The wing is highlighted by a double frieze of Grecques.

NOTE
This piece belongs to a large set of porcelain ordered for use on board the "Brillante", a vessel belonging to Miguel Alves Sousa, a Portuguese merchant based in Macao. The inscription "M.A.S." on one of the flags refers to the Sousa family.
