Manjushri triad in copper alloy
The bodhisattva is depicted standing in tribhanga on a lotiform base, adorned with a number of elegantly drooping jewels and scarves, brandishing a sword with his right hand, while his other hand holds a lotus stem flourishing over his shoulder and housing a book. He is accompanied by Vajrapani and Padmapani seated in lalitasana on either side. The whole rests on an openwork base and rests on a wide mandorla surmounted by a Garuda among foliage and flanked by various animals (mankara, lion and elephant). The jewels and dhoti are enhanced with fine copper and silver inlays. Faces enhanced with cold gilding.
