Cizhou stoneware vase
With a high, pronounced shoulder extending into a short, wide neck. The body is decorated in black slip on a cream ground with four-lobed reserves set against a background of dense swirls. One reserve features a phoenix, another a crane, the last a scholar. Framed by two friezes of flowers and foliage.

Restorations to the foot, the shoulder and the neck, some parts have been broken and reattached with glue, cracks to the body
