In a gilded wood frame.

For this relief depicting the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the artist used the composition produced around 1644 by Simon Vouet (1590-1649) for the Queen's oratory at the Palais Royal in Reims (now in the Musée Saint-Denis in Reims). This composition was known and circulated through an engraving by Michel Dorigny (1617 - 1665).
