ERRATUM : The engine number '900 465' matches the year 1965, as does the chassis number '300 461'. The engine block is stamped 911/02. French registration title Delivered in Germany on 25 February 1965, this Porsche 911 2.0 l was one of the first 500 example produced; highly prized by connoisseurs and immediately identifiable by its short chassis (SWB) and its many special features, which made the 911 (born 901) part of the Motoring Hall of Fame It is one of the rarest production 911s, with just 10,273 produced between 1965 and 1966; lightweight, with narrow tyres and the famous 130 hp 6-cylinder engine, the car we are offering for sale is in every respect the same as new, with its original Signal Red (6407) paintwork, black skaï interior with the much sought-after ‘houndstooth’ (Pepita) fabric, aerial, speakers, Webasto 00703 heater and Dunlop 165-15 tyres ordered as an option It was found again in 1975, in Alsace, before changing hands in 1980, still in the region. It was in 2011, 31 years later, that another enthusiast, still from Alsace, bought it and began a complete restoration of the chassis, all the mechanical parts, running gear and bodywork In addition to its Porsche certificate of authenticity, this car is accompanied by an extensive restoration file including step-by-step photos of the bodywork stripped and treated, the engine and gearbox (Matching Numbers) and invoices in excess of €80,000; particular care was taken to find period parts during the restoration, which were also purchased on invoice Fitted with Weber carburettors in its day-to-day use, this car has always been pampered without ever having undergone any haphazard modifications; its condition and use make it one of the most desirable examples on the market today
