Rectangular, two-tiered box decorated in hiramaki-e lacquer with karakusa motifs blending with bamboo stems and the "Mitsuba Aoi" coat of arms of the Tokugawa clan on a mura-nashiji background.
The lid imitates the decorative paper packaging of precious objects. The lower part is adorned with two shibuichi fittings featuring the "Mitsuba Aoi" crest and fitted with small rings. Inside in mura-nashiji.
