Dark blue silk satin embroidered with polychrome threads of eight medallions decorated with monarchs of paradise, butterflies and various flowers. All above a band of lishui surmounted by tumultuous waves from which emerge sacred peaks and auspicious objects.

NOTE:
Under the Qing dynasty (1644 - 1912), civil servants were organized according to a hierarchy in which each rank was symbolized by a bird. The monarch of paradise or chitrec was reserved for 9th-rank civil servants.
