High-quality silky lambswool velvet on cotton backing. Decoration and graphics similar to carpets from the Safavid dynasty of the late 16th and 17th centuries under Shah Abbas (the Persian Louis XIV). Beige field with original mosaic decoration of geometrically stylized palmettes and flower bulbs in polychrome, finely drawn surrounded by fine stems and branches forming multicolored plants and floral sprigs. Five borders, the main one in midnight blue, with a design reminiscent of the central field. Remarkable finesse. Beautiful graphics.
