~ LARGE PARFUMS COFFRET in gilt bronze, entirely veneered with ivory. The lid is adorned with a large silvered metal medallion flanked by two matching small medallions depicting sentimental Renaissance scenes (probably Raphael and the Fornarina or Romeo and Juliet). The corners are adorned with silvered metal figures of thinkers, richly decorated gilt bronze keyhole and side handles. The lock is marked "Susse Fres Place de la Bourse Paris". The veneered interior features two cut-glass flasks topped with finely worked ormolu stoppers.
