~ * IMPORTANT BUREAU PLATPAR JACOB &| JACOB-DESMALTER in mahogany and mahogany veneer. It opens with two front drawers and two side pulls. The right-hand belt is adorned with applied gilded bronzes of lotuses, lictors and antique armor framed by sea horses, and rests on four curved "chimera thigh" legs, highlighted with applied gilded bronze motifs of palmettes, lotuses and foliage. They themselves rest on an H-shaped brace connecting them. Stamped JACOB D. R. MESLÉE, used by Georges Jacob (1735 - 1814) and François-Honoré-Georges Jacob-Desmalter (1770- 1841) and between 1803 and 1813.

Top and pulls sheathed in gilded green leather.

The shape and bronzes of our desk are similar to those of the Emperor Napoleon I's mechanical desk delivered by Jacob-Desmalter in 1808. This desk is currently conserved at the Château de Compiègne (Deposit of the Musée national des châteaux de Malmaison et Bois-Préau).
