Collection de Monsieur Daniel R. - Lots 90 à 95
“ Dad, you've got the right to have fun... life-size!” With these words, Mr. Daniel R's collection grew in the early 1990s from around 10,000 Dinky Toys, Joustra, Märklin and so many others to around ten 1:1 scale classic cars! This man, who dreamed of being a coachbuilder but whose life led him to become a pastry chef, has lived his passion to the full, with the help of his son, an acolyte whose wise advice he couldn't do without... Once an advisor, he's now the enthusiastic collector, convinced that the best car in his collection will be the next one! We met last July, and I have to say that it's rare to find someone who's so busy professionally, but capable of fixing a
Tiger's brakes overnight, changing a TVR's fuel pump or a Gordini's spark plugs, or crossing the whole of Paris between two appointments to pick up a part bought the day before. No big deal, you ask? Of course, on the one hand, the man in question doesn't sleep much, but more importantly, he knows how to devote time to his souvenir box, which contains “life-size” toys in rare original condition, having been cared for by a father and son for almost 35 years. Now it's time to put them up for auction.
