In the early 1980s, Pininfarina offered Peugeot a more luxurious finish for its 504 cabriolet. The cost of the transformation was too high, however, and the marque did not accept the proposal, producing just 3 vehicles.
Our example is one of these, a 3rd series 2.0 cabriolet, fitted with a 5-speed gearbox and plastic bumpers. It features a large wooden dashboard embellished with seven Jaeger meters with white backgrounds. The centre console, steering wheel and gear knob in wood echo the dashboard. The two-tone leather upholstery is specific to the car and is combined with cream-coloured carpets bearing the Pininfarina signature. The silver metallic paintwork is also unique. Other subtle details add to the car’s distinctive character.
Mechanically, the car has recently undergone a major overhaul, including the addition of an electronic ignition, replacement of the clutch and restoration of the braking system.
This exceptional car is still in the hands of its first owner, and its unusual configuration and history make it an atypical car worthy of the attention of the most discerning collectors.
