Autograph notebook, signed at the top "Rousseau"| 10 pages in an in-12 notebook, black waxed paper cover (vellum-backed folder and slipcase).
Rare and precious account book of his paintings sold in 1909 and 1910.
On the first page, Rousseau has noted his name and address "Paris rue Perrel 2 bis" (stain). He then listed the names and addresses of his buyers, along with the subjects and prices of some forty paintings. In 1909, VOLLARD (6 rue Laffitte) bought 11 paintings between 4à and 230 francs: Composition, Surprise, and Landscapes| Hudes (actually Wilhelm UHDE, 21 Quai des Tournelles) bought 6 landscapes| Blamme (6 rue Boissonnade) 2 landscapes.
In 1910, VOLLARD buys 13 paintings, including a Creation at 400 fr. and landscapes| d'OETTINGEN (21 Boulevard Berthier) 5 paintings, including Monkeys (300 fr.) and Flowers (400 fr.)| Soffici (Naples) 7 paintings, including Vue de Paris| Uhde 5 paintings, including Fleurs| HOETZER, sculptor, 4 paintings: Fleurs (40 fr.), and Création (300 fr.), and two more Création on August 20 (200 fr.) and September 30 (300 fr.).
