First edition of Rimbaud's only self-published work. Une saison en enfer was printed in an edition of around 500 copies, with no large paper. Of these 500 copies, 425 remained with the publisher Poot, and were not distributed, Rimbaud having been unable to recover them for lack of money. He could only dispose of a dozen copies. The remainder remained in the cellar of the Alliance typographique until rediscovered in 1901 by Léon Losseau. From 1911 onwards, the Belgian bibliophile gradually dispersed the work on the market.
A fine copy, preserved in paperback and uncut, as issued. Some foxing.
