MALRAUX André (1901-1976).
MANUSCRIT autograph signed "André Malraux". 1976| 1 page in-4.
One of Malraux's last texts, evoking his friend Galanis.
It was reproduced in facsimile at the head of the catalog for the Hommage à Demetrius Galanis (1897-1966), organized from June 1 to September 18, 1976 by the Centre Culturel Hellénique de Paris at the Musée de Montmartre. Malraux died on November 23.
"What has become of these still lifes from Greek Anthology - figs, almonds, panpipes, grapes - so different from the illustration of October Nights, then in its glory, which in 1922 young writers compared to the fruits of the Tuscan Last Supper, to those of Derain? (Several belonged to Vanili Photiadès) How many surprises would an exhibition, paintings and engravings, give us from the time when GALANIS rested, decorating with other figs and flutes the harmonium he had patiently made between 1920 and 1930...
