He asks that arrangements be made to send copies of the Rolandeslied on his behalf to eleven personalities, whom he lists, including Moritz Haupt, Professor Hoffmann von Fallersleben in Breslau, "the director of the Mone archives in Karlsruhe, Professor Uhland in Stuttgart, Professor and librarian Schmeller in Munich, the novelist Ferdinand Wolf... [Grimm's version of the Chanson de Roland had been published at the end of the previous year by Dieterich in Göttingen| that year the Grimm brothers, who were part of the "Göttingen Seven", had been relieved of their duties and had left for Kassel.]
