CHINESE LYRUS HANGER in finely chased ormolu and white marble. Gilt bronze structure in the shape of a lyre, at the top of which stands a Chinaman taking shelter under an umbrella, flanked by two pineapples| the lyre frame is openwork with triangles| the rim is highlighted with pearled foliage and corolla falls| curved base with two pineapples. The dial and movement are suspended from a grill-type compensating balance| hours in Roman numerals, minutes and seconds in Arabic numerals. Day of the month calendar. Peg escapement. Parisian work, Louis XVI period, circa 1785.
