The dial is set in a cut-out and engraved gilt bronze decoration in the form of a martial trophy of standards surmounted by a radiant sun. The gilded brass rack is surmounted by a fleur-de-lys and is supported by a gilded base forming a fluted column, a griotte red marble stave and a velvet-covered base (worn). Under a glass globe. France, Alsace, 18th century, circa 1770.
