Louis Édouard Ory was born in 1815, an ironmonger and mechanic at 43 rue Saint Antoine, who died at the young age of 28 in Paris, leaving a widow and two young children. He is listed in the 1838 bulletin of the Société d'encouragement pour l'industrie nationale as a hardware merchant. This is the only known instance of his signature.
