Mounted art object made of a turned ivory sphere, engraved with twice the twelve hours in Arabic numerals on a grid background. Tilting sphere with markers at 30, 45 and 60 degrees.
Upper gnomon engraved with scrolls. The base is made of brass with four engraved volutes joined at the foot. The sphere and its support are mounted on the back of a bare bronze Altlas with brown patina supporting the whole. The Atlas itself is mounted on a pedestal of hard purple and peach stone resting on a brass ring in doucine.
For the bronze: attributed to Severo Calzetta da
