BAROQUE ARMOIRE in veneered wood with pewter inlays. It opens on two doors decorated with representations of a Saint prelate who died as a martyr, Saint Augustine, Saint Cecilia and Saint Catherine of Alexandria in pewter. Cut sides inlaid with foliage. Molded cornice. Characteristic base with cut aprons and crushed five-ball feet. Beautiful interior lock with richly-engraved brass ornament featuring a figure with a cornucopia. Germany, probably Brunswick, early 18th century.
