TRAVEL CABINET in ebony veneer and finely engraved marine ivory plates, opening with eight drawers on the front, three false drawers on the top, a central leaf containing eight drawers and another small leaf. Each drawer is covered with a marine ivory decoration engraved with a battle scene. The central leaf shows a soldier on horseback defeating his enemy, surrounded by Mars and Athena. The flap-shaped top opens onto two side drawers and a central storage unit in veneered wood. Sides with engraved marine ivory fillets and wrought-iron side handles. Italy, 17th century.
