COMPARISON
In terms of form and decoration, this rare piece should be compared with the wine cooler probably made for Cosimo I de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany, now in the Wallace Collection (N° INV-C107). This wine cooler is signed by Flaminio Fontana and dated 1574.
