The 24th Bataillon de Chasseurs (1871 - 1991), Bataillon de la Garde, was a disbanded military unit of the French alpine infantry (chasseurs alpins), then of the mechanized infantry, which took part in both world wars. The insignia represents "The imperial eagle holding in its talons the Austrian flag taken at Solferino". It is the 3rd of 4 badges worn by the 24th Battalion.
