Henri Loyrette, Chaumet: Parisian Jeweller since 1780, Flammarion, pp. 105–107

From the 1910s onwards, Joseph Chaumet was a leading pioneer of Art Deco jewellery. The House of Chaumet distinguished itself in this style at the World’s Fairs held between 1925 and 1937.
In 1930, the year this delightful ribbon bracelet was created, the House of Chaumet celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. Despite a difficult economic climate following the stock market crash of 1929, Chaumet weathered the storm and rose to the challenge of modernity. Combining trendiness with elegance, this piece is a fine example of jewellery craftsmanship, evident in the linear setting of its diamond pavé alternating with cylindrical emeralds engraved with godron patterns.
