Rare silk rank badge embroidered with polychrome and gold threads representing two cranes holding a mushroom of immortality, flying over a rock among the foaming waves, the sky densely populated with stylized clouds.

In 1454, the Joseon Dynasty adopted the Ming Dynasty system of rank insignia for officials. Cranes were reserved for officials of the first to third rank.
