1912 Vermorel Type L
French registration title Rustic and powerful model, very popular before the First World War in the countryside of the Lyon region; spearhead of the Vermorel brand Vermorel 4-cylinder, twin-block, 12/16 HP, 2064 cc engine, 4-speed gearbox Model generally bodied as a van or cattle truck, and as an elegant torpedo, like this one signed by the Lyon coachbuilder Henri Gauthier et Cie Purchased by Mr. Olivier Auboin-Vermorel in the mid 1970s Old quality restoration, car immobilized for a long time but easy to restart in addition to an important revision, no MOT La collection de Monsieur Olivier Auboin-Vermorel The garage of Mr. Olivier-Vermorel, who passed away in 2014, contains treasures that bear witness to a double family heritage. One of his parents was called Auboin, the surname of a family from Paris who ran quarries and construction companies at the beginning of the 20th century, and the other Vermorel, the surname of a family based in Villefranche-sur-Saône, whose name was closely linked to agricultural equipment and the automobile. Incredible as it may seem, the Voisin was acquired by his grandfather in 1927, and since then has remained parked in the family garages, out of sight, out of mind, and out of time... For the Vermorel family, it seems that he acquired them in the mid-1960s, in homage to the rich family past of his mother, née Vermorel. These four cars, of two makes, symbolise the power and influence of two important families at the beginning of the last century and the Roaring Twenties. The Vermorel family has not changed hands for more than half a century and the Voisin has only had one owner: what better provenance could there be?
