1964 Porsche 356 SC Cabriolet
French historic registration tittle Remarkable restoration by the Porsche centre in Montpellier Car in its strict factory configuration, matching numbers and matching colors Recent expertise, important restoration follow-up file, numerous invoices Perfect mechanical condition, 3,000 km since full restoration The ideal Porsche 356, ready to drive this summer The Porsche 356 is nothing less than the first model produced by the German brand exactly seventy years ago. It was conceived during the Second World War by Ferry Porsche on the mechanical basis of the Volkswagen Beetle for reasons of economy and designed by Erwin Komenda, both of whom were expatriates in Gmünd, Austria at the time. It was in this city that the first prototype and a first series of 356s were produced in 1948. Then, the entire production moved to Stuttgart in 1950. Called Pre-A, the first series was an immediate commercial success in the United States. In particular with Hollywood actors. The Porsche 356 shown here was first put on the road in September 1964. It is Email Blue with the reference 6403 and the interior is in beige leather. This car has been fully restored by the Porsche centre in Montpellier with a rare concern for authenticity and detail. According to the Porsche data card and the certificate of authenticity provided by the brand with the serial numbers, the car is well matched numbers and respects its factory configuration. The work that has been done is documented by photos and parts invoices: the car has been stripped down to bare metal, the interior completely redone with high quality leather, the wiring harness refurbished and the mechanics rebuilt preserving the original 1600 type 616/6 elements. Since the restoration the car has covered just under 3 000 km and is ready to cover many more with its future owner.
