Velvet of silky lambswool of great quality on cotton foundations. Ivory field decorated with fine scrolls of branches crenellated with twisted flowering palmettes and inlaid with finely drawn star-shaped floral buds forming a very large central medallion with fine marine botehs framing a ruby pendant. Four spandrels with palmettes in the form of peacock feathers doing the wheel. Large ruby border with semis of prayer mirhabs formed by stylized diamonds. Iran, Shah's era, circa 1960.
