TWO QUADRILLE GAME BOXES by Mariaval le Jeune in Paris, made of stained whalebone plates and carved and engraved mother-of-pearl inscribed. The lid with counting system and decoration of characters of the Italian comedy. The interior with country scene and flowers. Both signed. Below, respectively a smoking ottoman and a butterfly. The green box containing fifteen decorated counting rectangles and two tokens bearing the inscriptions "Je ne suis pas ouvert" and "J'attens ma couronne". Paris, early 18th century, circa 1720.
