"La Tactique must put itself at your feet, Sir| you have many rights there as a priest of Bellone and Apollo| as the author of the excellent article deserter with which you enriched the enciclopedia, etca, etca. The copies of this trifle which were circulated were too informal.
Please accept this one which is more correct than all the others. You may be surprised to find the names of Mr. Clément and
Mr. Sabatier. But one can't help but lash out at these kicking donkeys. I admire the insolence of these animals. Literature would be in France the height of ignominy if it had not been supported by the honor that you made him"...
