He complains about the publication twice in the Echo de Paris of a "nasty and false note about me. Five or six days ago it was said that I had been taken by the collar by city sergeants following a spat with them, which is an awful lie. This time it's about my entrance to Bichat and a note on the "register of the Assistance publique" which doesn't exist, neither note nor register". He appeals "to your benevolence towards me to stop gratuitous malice which can be most prejudicial to me - and to rectify it if necessary"...
