"I received from M. Varin the sum of seventy-five francs that I beg
M. the cashier of the National to give on the fifth of next month to M. Varin or to the person who will present himself for him".
At the bottom of the page, signed the cashier of the National with the mention "vû - bon à payer le 5 Xbre à la Caisse du National" and P. Varin "pour acquit le 5 Xbre 1850".
