HUYSMANS Joris-Karl (1848 - 1907)
L.A.S. "JKHuysmans," [Paris 23 July 1888], to Paul VERLAINE| 1 1/2 pages in-8, envelope.
"Are you alive or dead, that no news reaches me? But I must see you| for there are accounts to settle. He makes a quick calculation and concludes: "I owe you 35F which I will give you on Wednesday, at 7 o'clock, at your place, if you want to wait for me there. Please be so kind as to write to me if it suits you [...]. At the end of the month, I am going to Germany, to savor some views of Primitives and to escape the collection of the abominable French muffles which surround us"...
Attached is a L.A.S. from George SAND, Nohant Saturday [February 10, 1872, to General Camille Ferri-Pisani], friendly letter in favor of his gardener (3 p. in-8).
