APOLLINAIRE Guillaume (1880-1918)
L.A.S. "Mistletoe", May 3, 1915, to Louise de CHÂTILLON-COLIGNY| 4 pages in-8 (some light stains).
Beautiful love letter to Lou, written from the front.
"My little Lou very dear. I understand well all the tensions, the spring, the flowers and do not blame you at all, little Lou of my heart.

There is the first lilac" [brown spots on the letter]. When will they be able to pick it together?... "Here nothing is new but the war"... He wonders what they think in Paris about the duration of this war, and if Italy is going to enter the war, or "make us wait under the elm tree like me in Marseille? My little Lou would have liked to see the dovecote with its beautiful black irises and its rascal carnations of which you speak so well. Finally, my darling, I kiss you a thousand times"...
