He is staying at the home of the sculptor Sir William Reed Dick: "I have only been through
London several times or spent a few hours there since I saw you. I am in England until the 8th. But I am leaving for an airfield on Sunday until Monday afternoon. He asks to call him in the morning, as he is going out the rest of the day. He looks forward to seeing him again soon and adds ironically, in English, in postscript that he has not been able to meet Basil Trevellyan [a famous novel hero].
