First edition of Paul Jouve's compositions, including 13 full-page figures, 3 on double page and 54 banners, etched in colors by Raymond Haasen.
Limited edition of 123 copies on Vélin d'Arches justified by the publisher and the artist and a few copies of collaborators| this one of 110 with a suite in black (n° 75).
The animal painter, specialized in the representation of wild animals, chooses here to illustrate a little-known text by Balzac which evokes the "love" of a Napoleonic soldier for Mignonne, a panther he met in the desert during the Egyptian campaign.
