Contemporary red morocco, spine ribbed and decorated with flowers, olive morocco title-piece and tomato, triple gilt fillet on the boards, gilt fleurons on the corners, gilt fillet on the edges, interior roulette, gilt edges.

First edition of the engraved illustration after Moreau le Jeune.

This beautiful edition includes a portrait of Molière by Cathelin after Mignard, 33 figures after Moreau le Jeune and 6 title finials. Cohen (716-719) indicates that "good copies contain duplicate pages 66-67 and 80-81 in volume I," which is the case here.
