Two volumes in one folio, portrait-frontispice of the author, (14) ff, (110) ff. numbered in 440 columns, false-title of the second volume, (110) ff. numbered in columns [441]-880, (36) ff. of tables, 44 plates (31 of which on double page) and 19 figures in text. Text on two columns, continuous pagination between the two volumes.

Modern binding in the imitation of the 18th century in speckled brown basane, spine ribbed and decorated, crowned numeral repeated in the entrenerfs, framed by a triple gilt fillet on the boards, decorated edges. (Rusty marks on the edges of the back covers, endpapers, first and last leaves, due to the glue of the binding.) New edition of the French translation given by the diplomat Abraham de Wicquefort. The illustration includes 44 maps, plans and views, of which 31 on double page, and 19 illustrations in the text. This important account of travels in Asia had originally appeared in German in 1658, and its first French edition a year later.
