PAIR OF COVERED VESSELS with painted decoration of a hunt, they rest on gilt bronze bases and are topped by a hat finished with a gilt bronze seed. The base, like the collar and the hat, are in Sèvres blue and decorated with gold medallions inside which are ploughing implements, brandets, quivers and bows, and musical instruments painted in gold. A continuous decoration on the belly of the vases represents a hunt with hounds where one can see the crew in XVIIIth century clothes pursuing the stag. Signed H. Desprez| mark with the " L interlaced with the letter date O in imitation of Sèvres ". End of the XIXth century.

The two favorite themes of the painter on porcelain Desprez were the Napoleonic battles, in particular Wagram and Austerlitz, and the genre scenes inspired by the 18th century.
