ATTRIBUÉ À FRANÇOIS-HONORÉ- GEORGES JACOB-DESMALTER (1770 – 1841)
Mahogany and mahogany veneer armchair, the back decorated with a lemon tree diamond inlaid with ebony dots. A double scroll ending in a mahogany rod joins the side rails. The top of the armrests is finished with a scroll topped by a palmette. The squares of the four saber feet are decorated with a rose window. Directoire period.

This armchair was part of a set of two armchairs and two chairs stamped Jacob D.R. Meslée corresponding to the association of François-Honoré-Georges and Georges Jacob between 1803 and 1813 sold at Sotheby's on June 16, 1990, n°935.
