Solid mahogany office chair, caned with rotating seat. The gondola backrest ends in concave arm brackets. It rests on four fluted feet. Late 18th century, early 19th century.

Henri Jacob is the cousin of Georges Jacob, received master on September 29, 1779 he established himself in Bourbon Villeneuve street.
In 1799 he set up his store at 108, rue Neuve Saint Étienne at the corner of the Boulevard Bonne Nouvelle and this until 1806 while his workshops are at 20, rue de l'Échiquier.
The auction of March 16, 1800 in his store of the boulevard Bonne Nouvelle signs the end of his trade. Many seats are described, but also cabinetmaking, most of the furniture was in burled, speckled and satin mahogany.
He stopped his trade definitively around 1806, from this date he does not appear any more in the almanac of the trade and until his death in 1824
