; A sapphire, diamond and ruby brooch in gold and platinum, signed Van Cleef & Arpels
Featured in numerous advertising posters for the 1939 New York World’s Fair, this clasp can be attached to the ‘Passe-partout’ necklace and bracelet by Van Cleef & Arpels.
A symbol of innovation at the time, this bouquet in blue, white and red became a patriotic piece of jewellery during the 1940s. Van Cleef & Arpels produced variations of this design in its Hawaii collection around 1945. This model, depicting a bouquet of flowers including forget-me-nots held together by a ribbon, served as a token of solidarity from soldiers’ wives for their husbands deployed during the war. A symbol of eternal love and remembrance, a piece of jewellery that embodies peace.
