1978 - CITROËN GS CLUB C-MATIC
French registration title Genuine 3rd hand car equipped with the very rare manual sunroof and the C-Matic 3-speed converter gearbox. Sold with service booklet, user manual, old registration documents and invoices dating back to 2002. Purchased new in February 1978, sold in September of the same year to its second owner who kept it until his death in 2018. Stored in a dry barn, its current owner bought it back in March 2020 and incurred over €5,000 in costs before taking it on the road again. If the whole thing was in good condition, the boot floor and the interiors of the rear fenderwells will be redone, and a complete paint veil carried out (except the front skirt). The paintwork is perfectly tight and the alignments flawless. Mechanically, the car will go to the Daunat Classique Garage just before the sale for a final check. With 84,745 km on the day of our test drive, the GS’ behaviour is a credit to its title of Car of the Year! Ambitious, the GS was developed in two years to fill a gap in the Citroën range with the objective of offering a popular car with the best innovations of the brand with the Chevrons! Its design signed by Robert Opron (the father of the SM and the CX) is of great elegance!
