In-folio, (8)-112 pages and 104 plates including frontispiece (numbered 1-103, with one plate 16bis). Contemporary marbled calf, spine ribbed and decorated.

First edition, decorated with an allegorical frontispiece and 103 plates, of which 27 on double page, engraved by Cochin, Lucas, Aveline, and A. Herisset et al.

The plates, here in first printing, were later removed to illustrate Gabriel Pérau's book, Description de l'Hôtel Royal des Invalides, published in 1756.
