Project for a film adaptation for the libertarian cooperative society Le Cinéma du Peuple. "The "Cinéma du Peuple", too poor to edit all its films right now, would like to have at least one of its own. To this end, my friend Marcel MARTINET, who signed this prospectus, writes to me [...] that with BIDAMANT he has thought of Philemon, which would be an admirable debut show: on the one hand education and revolutionary stimulus, on the other hand a precious element of actuality, Philemon being the revolutionary book of the year. In order for the project to be carried out, you would have to shoot a film of your novel yourself or authorize the organizers to do so, under conditions that you would set with the organizers... As soon as he returns to Paris, he will tell him how Miraut [Le Roman de Miraut, chien de chasse] was accepted "at L'Humanité, where it is currently published in serial form". Then he evokes his stay in the countryside: "I have already seen my old friends the foxes since I am here they abound, but the hares are missing to the great despair of the hunters. The countryside is surprisingly fresh and the weather is generally good: I'm getting better.
