CHINE XVIIIe SIÈCLE, PÉRIODE QING

Pair of standing roosters, perched on rocks, heads slightly turned, one leg raised. The plumage in white enamel slightly celadonized, contrasting with the brown glaze of the rocks. The crest, barb and ear flaps are bright red enamel.

Private Parisian collection of Mr. L. constituted on three generations since the end of the 19th century. Possible invoice dated February 23, 1940 at Pierre SAQUÉ, 12 avenue Georges V. in Paris (75008). Fourth line mentioning "2 cocks porcelain of Japan XVIIIe".
