- city). "Mr. Markley, director of the "Théâtre Français" in Bordeaux, asks me to stage Le Candidat, and for this purpose he requests a manuscript.
It is Mr. Michaelis who possesses the only readable ms of my play. I have written to him to ask him to send you a copy - which you will send to Mr Markley. [...] I hope to see you tomorrow at the dress rehearsal..."...
