Large in-8 (246 x 177 mm), title-frontispiece-[11] ff.-255 pp. (error in numbering, 245)-75 pp. full calf, boards decorated with a gilt double-filet, spine gilt with double-filet and designs, gilt title-piece in red morocco, spotted edges (early 18th century binding).
Copper-engraved vignettes by N. Picart on the title-frontispices leaves. Copper-engraved headbands and footnotes.
PROVENANCE: Louis Boyat, appointed councillor to the parliament of Dombes in 1712 (Cf. Poidebard, Baudrier & Galle, Armorial des bibliophiles du Lyonnais, Forez, Beaujolais et de Dombes, p. 67)(engraved and armorial ex-libris vignette "Ex biblioth. Lud. Boyat [...]" pasted on upper back cover). (Slight spotting and a few freckles not affecting the text| top cover damaged, spotting and spalling on boards, corners dull).

First edition, decorated with a full-page map of Palestine, as well as a repeated bandeau by Sébastien Le Clerc and a cul-de-lampe. (Binding damaged (headbands damaged, heavy spotting)| some foxing).
