Incomplete manuscript on paper of about fifteen lines per page in Arabic in Maghribi script with brown and red inks. Section titles inscribed in coloured ink, some illuminated in cartouches with geometric decoration and marginal medallions painted in gouache. Bound in late brown morocco.
Dimensions: H. 22.9 x W. 16.5 cm
Condition: some wetness, stains, slight tears and tears at the edges of the leaves.
This famous poem written by the Andalusian imam Abu Muhammad ash-
Shatibi (1144-1194) is dedicated to the science of reading the Qur'an qiraat and gives the rules for seven authentic modes of recitation.
